JamBase and SongMeanings Bring Concert Listings and Lyric Interpretations to Rosetta Stone

April 12, 2012

Today we welcome two new members to our growing Rosetta family, JamBase and SongMeanings, adding to the breadth of content accessible to application developers building on our platform — that’s you guys!

Rosetta Stone’s song and artist ID resolution technology simplifies the complicated task of mapping to disparate ID structures on other web platforms, making a wide range of content accessible across data APIs from partners including Spotify, Rdio, Twitter, Facebook, Lyricfind, MusixMatch, 7Digital, EMI, Free Music Archive, MusicBrainz, and Seatwave.

JamBase offers aggregated concert and tour information through its own dev site, but developers will now be able to access JamBase’s robust database of concert listings through the Echo Nests APIs as well.

SongMeanings has also integrated its own song IDs, making lyrical interpretations from its community of users easily retrievable, and offering a unique opportunity to provide lyrical context alongside other content in smarter music applications.

We are particularly excited about this partnership, which will make providing users with accurate information around live events even easier through JamBase, and further enrich the kinds of experiences developers can create around lyrics by connecting users with the way others think of them, through the SongMeanings community.

Project Rosetta Stone is making it easier for platforms to talk to each other, and each new partner only adds to the layers of discovery, and interaction that application developers can build into music experiences. We can’t wait to see the next wave of applications taking advantage of this data.
